Cradle Of Filth at their most theatrical: a full concept album about Elizabeth Báthory, the Hungarian countess said to have bathed in the blood of young women, with Hammer Horror icon Ingrid Pitt narrating as the Countess herself. Symphonic, sleazy and absolutely over the top, it's a landmark of British extreme metal. This "Re-Mistressed" edition was remixed to fix the original's much-maligned production, so the songs finally sound as savage as they were meant to. Pressed on blood-red translucent vinyl, naturally.
